The Hope for a Brighter Future Academy (HBFA) is a comprehensive year-round, residential private school for youth in grades 6 -12 with targeted supports for their parents, to help them engage in their children’s learning and development processes while receiving assistance to assume their role as their child’s first educator and provider. The intentional focus on children who have experienced severe childhood trauma and their parents constitutes the hallmark of HBFA’s holistic educational approach.
All children will be involved in extra-curricular activities including but not limited to taking care of dogs in a kennel, riding horses, growing fish and vegetables together for their own food (aquaponic system), and raising organic crops. Such outdoor activities have proved to be very effective in the healing process of children who have experienced trauma.
